Thought I'd share a bit of Leroy's world with you today. I went around testing out my new camera to see how it went indoors without a flash. Not too bad at all!!!
When I was pregnant with Leroy I got nesting big time. We knew we were having a boy and knew we would call him Leroy. It was the only name we could agree on! So he got to hear "Bad bad Leroy Brown" every time I got in the car, just to get him used to it, LOL! He loves the song now and sings it so well. Hilarious hearing a 3 year old singing such a song!
Where was I? Oh yes the nesting. I decided to take up hand embroidery for something fun! This name is all hand embroidered by moi in satin stitch, framed on his bedroom door.
I designed the shelving and toy box seats and drew pictures after pictures until I was happy with it, and my incredibly handy Dad built it all for me! I covered the chair pads and made all except two of the cushions there. His shelves have fun things like vintage children's books, old children's shoe lasts from my grandfather, vintage wooden toys mixed in with new stuff.
Have a great day today!!!

I love Leroy's room. I'm super impressed that you have one room you think is perfect - I don't have any! LOL. All of your embroidery is amazing. I love the whimsical feel. Love that he lines up his trucks! I used to do that with my stuffed animals every Saturday morning. I would line them all up and make sure they could "see" the TV so we could all watch cartoons!

Just love Leroys room. My 5yo grandson Lachlan has always lined his cars up like that too! We used to call him the neat freak. Everything always had to be in its place. He's not so neat now he's 5 so enjoy it while you can.
ReplyDeleteLove your embroideries.Things like that are great as they will now be in the family forever.

What an adorable room!!! If I had had a boy, that's exactly what his room would look like, lol. I love the mix of vintage and modern, it's a really nice style.
ReplyDeletePS: I'm guessing you're in the general Essendon area, there is a REALLY nice toy store just off Puckle Street that sells the most amazing toys that I think would be right up your alley! From memory, I think it's the same street as Safeway, but I can't think of the name of it.
Hi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteLeroy does have such a wonderful room ~ he is such a lucky boy!! And he keeps it so tidy...don't know how you managed to train him so early!!

I love Leroy's room! It's adorable and boyish at the same time and that is hard to do, I"m finding out! And Miss Painter...you can't be good at embroidery, TOO! ;) I think that's too many lovely artistic skills for ONE DARLING GIRL to possess!
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, though...Good for you, trying something new..and keep it up, as you're very good at it. :)
